SPAWN #24 -
This issue is visually crowded in the best way. McFarlane’s linework is chaotic, but you can tell there is obviously intent behind it. You can get lost in the detail, and that’s what I really respect about it. Spawn’s world is messy, cursed, and full of tension, and you can feel like you are there because of the art. Spawn isn’t a hero in the traditional sense. He’s haunted and extremely reactive. This issue doesn’t give you all the answers, but it definitely inspires me to pay more attention to my designs and work whenever I hit a wall.
