GHOST RIDER: FEAR ITSELF -
Williams brings a fresh angle, focusing more on Blaze than the Rider. The tone’s a little looser, with some solid character work and cool ideas sprinkled through it, but it’s not perfect by any means. It tries to do something different, and maybe there should be some respect there. The story’s got range. It’s not just fire and chains and death; there’s some character depth here, especially with Blaze. Williams focuses more on the man than the demon, and that does pay off, in my opinion. The tone is darker but not overly deep, and there are even some jokes in there that I didn’t hate. Not everything works (looking at you, fake Constantine), but there’s an obvious attempt in every chapter. I was also a fan of the chaos that Mephisto brought to the story.
