A breakaway group of Kryptonians shows up ready to reshape Earth, and Batman, bruised and more stubborn than ever, steps up. What makes this book interesting is that it doesn’t care if you like it. It’s messy, aggressive, and political. It’s not here to please anyone. Sometimes that hits like a punch to the gut. Other times, it feels like it’s being edgy just to be edgy. But when it works, like Carrie rising into her own, Bruce questioning his place in the world, or humans pushing back against literal gods, it really works.
